In short

We focus on three contractor trades in California and Texas: roofing, general, and plumbing. Each has its own page with the coverage that trade typically needs, what drives cost, and the COIs and endorsements that bids require. Not your exact trade? Get a quote and we will confirm fit. As ContractorsInsured.net (CA Lic #6015321 / TX Lic #3305690), we shop multiple carriers for California and Texas contractors across every trade, quote the same business day, and issue the COI right after binding.

No policy yet but a GC wants a COI? We quote general liability the same business day, bind, and issue the certificate right after. Already covered? Send the certificate holder details and endorsement wording and we match it.

Choose your trade

In brief: Each trade page covers the coverage that trade typically needs, what drives cost, and the bid-compliance items carriers ask for.
  • Roofing Contractors heights and steep-slope work, tear-offs, hot work, and the endorsements roofers get asked for most.
  • General Contractors subcontractor risk transfer, broad job mix, and contract-driven limits and endorsements.
  • Plumbing Contractors water-damage exposure, service versus new construction, and excavation or trenching work.
  • Demolition Contractors structural collapse and XCU exposure, city permit insurance gates like Dallas and San Antonio, and E&S market access for high-hazard classes.
  • Foundation Contractors expansive clay and earth-movement exposure, completed-operations tails that run for years, and the E&S placements underpinning work often needs.
  • Restoration Contractors water, fire and mold work where the biggest exposure is excluded from standard GL, plus the Texas TDLR mold license insurance mandate.
// 02 · Coverage

Policies contractors typically need

In brief: Most contractors start with a core stack, then add coverage based on contracts, vehicles, tools, and job types.
// 03 · Compliance

Bid and compliance requirements we help with

In brief: Most coverage is proven to a GC, owner, or portal through a certificate of insurance and the endorsements your contract requires.

A Certificate of Insurance proves your coverage and limits at a point in time, while endorsements like Additional Insured, Primary & Noncontributory, and Waiver of Subrogation actually modify the policy. We help with both, subject to carrier approval and the exact wording required. See all compliance requirements.

// 04 · Service area

Where we serve

We serve contractors across California and Texas and the surrounding metros, with trade and coverage pages and bid-compliance support for each state.

FAQs about choosing a trade

Do you only insure these three trades?
These are the initial focus trades: roofing contractors, general contractors, and plumbing contractors. If you are adjacent, use Get a Quote and we will confirm fit.
Why does trade selection matter for insurance?
Carriers price and underwrite differently based on job types, hazard level, subcontractor usage, and claims patterns. Picking the right trade page helps you avoid misclassification and delays.
Can you help with COIs and endorsements for bids?
Yes. We support COIs and common endorsements, subject to carrier approval and the exact wording required.
Is a COI the same as an endorsement?
No. A COI is proof of coverage at a point in time. Many requirements must be granted by endorsement.
How fast can you turn a quote around?
Often the same business day when your info is complete. Complex operations and endorsement-heavy requirements can take longer depending on underwriting.
Where can I see licensing and disclosures?
Use the Disclosures page for licensing language, service area statements, and important limitations.
How fast can ContractorsInsured cover a contractor in any trade?
We typically return two to three quote options within 24 to 72 hours once we have your trade, revenue, payroll, and claims history, and we issue the COI immediately after binding.

This is general information, not legal advice. Coverage, eligibility, policy forms, endorsements, and pricing vary by carrier and underwriting approval. Specific contract language and bid packet requirements should be reviewed with your broker before binding.
