Licensing and Disclosures

This page explains our licensing, service area limits, and how ContractorsInsured.net operates as an independent insurance broker for contractors. We place coverage with multiple carriers when available, help contractors with COIs and common endorsements, and provide general educational content about contractor insurance and compliance topics. Information on this site is general and is not legal advice. Coverage, pricing, and eligibility depend on underwriting and carrier approval.

Service area disclosure

We serve contractors in California and Texas and surrounding areas. We do not claim offices we do not have.

ContractorsInsured.net currently focuses on:

  • California contractors (serving major metros and surrounding areas)
  • Texas contractors (serving major metros and surrounding areas)

Coverage availability and policy options vary by trade, job type, and underwriting guidelines. Not all coverage is available in all locations.

Licensing and legal entity

Insurance is regulated. We only transact insurance where properly licensed.
Producer / agency licensing
  • California: Licensed insurance producer/agency. License #: [CA License Number]
  • Texas: Licensed insurance producer/agency. License #: [TX License Number]

If you are licensed in additional states, list them here. If you are not licensed in a state, we cannot bind or service policies that require licensing in that state.

What we do (and what we do not do)

We are an independent broker. We are not a direct carrier.

What we do

  • Operate as an independent insurance broker for contractors and shop coverage with multiple carriers when available
  • Help contractors meet bid and compliance requirements, including COIs and common endorsements (subject to carrier approval)
  • Support common contractor policies such as general liability, workers’ comp (including ghost where applicable), commercial auto, bonds, inland marine (tools/equipment), umbrella/excess, builder’s risk, and E&O
  • Provide basic support for policy document requests and initial claims intake and routing

What we do not do

  • We do not provide legal advice. Contract requirements vary by project and contract language.
  • We do not guarantee approval, rates, coverage terms, or turnaround times. Those are carrier-driven and fact-specific
  • We do not promise the “lowest price” or “cheapest coverage.” We focus on fit, underwriting accuracy, and compliance support.

Quotes, coverage, and underwriting disclaimers

Quotes are estimates until underwriting is complete and coverage is bound.

  • Any quote indication is based on information provided and may change after underwriting review, inspections, loss runs, payroll verification, or audits.
  • A quote is not a binder. Coverage is not in force until confirmed in writing and all carrier requirements are satisfied.
  • Coverage terms are governed by the actual policy forms and endorsements issued by the carrier, not summaries on this site.

COIs and endorsement disclosures (important)

A COI is proof of coverage. Many requirements must be granted by endorsement.

  • Certificate of Insurance (COI): A COI generally summarizes coverage and limits at a point in time. It does not automatically change your policy.
  • Endorsements: Requirements like Additional Insured, Primary and Noncontributory, and Waiver of Subrogation are typically granted by endorsement when available and approved.
  • Turnaround: COI and endorsement timing depends on complete request information and carrier rules. Urgent requests should include deadline, job address, certificate holder details, and exact wording requested.

For faster routing:

“Ghost policy” and workers’ comp guidance

Workers’ comp practices and contract requirements vary. Get licensed guidance before relying on any approach.

Content on workers’ compensation and “ghost policies” is general educational information. Whether a ghost policy is appropriate depends on your trade, payroll structure, contract requirements, state rules, and carrier guidelines. You should request licensed guidance and confirm requirements with the GC/owner in writing before making decisions based on a contract packet.
